WELCOME TO RAMONA PETERSON PHOTOGRAPHY
My introduction to photography began with my father taking pictures of me with his Zenit film camera while growing up in Romania when I was just 2 years old. I still have memories of him developing pictures in the dark room, which was a closet in our home. These childhood moments inspired a passion for phography that would continue throughout my life.
I was able to experience a photography class, while in college in Romania where I majored in Journalism. Life then lead me to Italy, where I studied languages such as Italian, Spanish, French and English. Living in Italy continued to fuel my passion for photography through being emmersed in the art, culture and beauty of the country, although it wasn't until I met my husband and started our family that my journey to becoming a photographer truly began.
I met my husband in Italy while he was stationed over seas in the Airforce. We began our family with oldest daughter, Sophia. My photography skills grew as she did, taking photographs of all her important "firsts" and milestones.
When I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter, Aurora, I asked a friend to take maturnity pictures of me. During the session, I joked with her that I would love to make a living doing this one day. Looking back at this moment I recall her laughing, not knowing what the furture would hold.
We moved from Italy to Virginia, where our family grew once more with the birth of our son, Matias. Taking his newborn pictures made me realize newborn photography was my speciality. I took a mentorship program, where I was able to perfect my skills and then began my business as a newborn photographer in 2018.
Starting with newborn photography naturally lead me to maternity sessions. I love capturing the emotions and precious moments that only creating new life can bring. I have continued to branch out as a photographer, and today I take pride in capturing maternity, newborn, cake smash and family portraits.
I love being inspired to curate unique and individualized settings for each photoshoot, with sessions being personalized based on the clients wants and needs. I want my clients to be satisfied with not only the end result, but the experience of taking the photographs as well.
I strive to create a stress-free, relaxed environment. I am flexible and adapt to any given situation in order to bring out the beauty that is already there. This is your day, let's create an unforgettable experience and make memories.

During your session I will assist and direct you through posing and expression to get everyone comfortable in front of the camera so we can incorporate both posed and natural moments on your special day. From a fashion forward shoot to a more reserved traditional style, I am here for you.
I love trying creative things that bring out the best in every shoot. I adapt to any given situation and try to bring the beauty out that is already there.
We are SO thankful for Ramona!! She captured our family’s Christmas photos wonderfully. She is so caring and talented. I love the way the pictures turned out. We will treasure these precious moments in time forever. I can’t say enough great things about her and our time together!
Ramona did my newborn session and i couldn't be happier with how the pictures turned out! She has tons of cute props to choose from in her studio and made sure i was involved with all the choices.She was very patient with both my baby and toddler and went beyond our session time to be sure we got all the photos we wanted.I highly recommend her for your photography needs!
